Hope Tower become hopeless - Khansa Qamar

Hostel life is one of the most difficult lives, especially when it’s your first experience. Hostel life cannot fulfill the luxurious level of home because there are so many major problems in our hostel known as ‘Hope Tower’. Mostly girls in our hostel gossips:

“A tower without hope.” and discuss various problems which they faced.

1. One of the biggest problems for everyone is mess. Not a single girl is satisfied with the food, mess time table and taste. Almost taste of every food is same. Secondly, we have only 22 meals per month to eat.It means lunch is compulsory but if we have to take breakfast and lunch then we should pay for that. Hence, it is costly with no quality.Every food involves chicken which is so much unhealthy especially for girls.

2. Hostilities are facing many cleanliness issues, especially washrooms that are not clean at 24 hours. This is one of the most major problem. Resident assistants continually give awareness and multiple warnings to every wing but still there is no progress.

3. Half of hostilities are deeply concerned about double beds because some of them have a backbone problem.Others are not comfortable with stairs. Example of two hostilities who are facing this issue:

“It is not easy to go up and down all the time just because you sit or sleep on your bed.”

“Using these stairs at night is most difficult for me.”

4. Like other hostels many girls have this issue that Hope tower has a curfew time from which you are not allowed to go outside after 9:00 pm and you have to come before 10:00 pm otherwise you will be fined directly Rs 5000/- which is again a huge amount just for this.

5. There is no Kitchen and fridge in the hostel and mess is not good so most of the girls rely on online orders which is again not good for health. There is no kitchen in the entire hostel.

“If there is a kitchen at least we can make something by ourselves”.

“Can you imagine cooking noodles and tea in the oven? There should be a kitchen in the hostel.”

Many hostilities complained about the fridge as well where at least they can store their food.

In the end, these are some of the major problems which exist in hope tower and did not solve from the past few decades. Hope one day our all problems will be solved and it becomes a real hope tower as its name portrays.
